Perry N. Davis

Perry N. Davis, 74, Michigantown, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022.  He was born March 24, 1948, in Frankfort, to Herbert and Naomi (Robertson) Davis.

Perry was a 1966 graduate of Clinton Central High School.  He went on to receive his Civil Engineering Degree from Purdue University in 1971.  He worked at Doyne Crum Construction, then was owner of Davis Drainage Contracting, and then worked for Indiana Department of Transportation as an engineer until his retirement in 2013.

Perry was a lover of horses. He bred, cared for, and raced quarter horses.  He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, where he won New Breeder of the Year, and Indiana Quarter Horse Association.

He is survived by his siblings, Cathy J. Davis, Steven (Katherine Constable) Davis, David Davis, and Carolyn Davis; nephew, Jason (Jill) Davis; niece, Jen Davis; and great-nieces, Jenna and Joy Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phillip Davis.

A Celebration of Life & Open House will be hosted by his Siblings from 8:30a.m.–6:30p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Michigantown Lions Club-Alumni Community Center (MLC-ACC) located at 500-504 Ohio Street, Michigantown, IN 46057.  Perry’s Siblings hope your schedule will be flexible and you can find a time to join us when able for morning coffee & rolls/donuts or some light lunch or afternoon cookies & milk or a happy hour toast to Perry (5:00-6:30p.m.) with finger foods.  Flowers are always welcome, however in lieu of flowers—the Davis Siblings respectfully request that Memorial Donations may be made to any of the following: IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research; The Building Fund Michigantown Lions Club-Alumni Community Center; Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine Giving to Purdue Fessler Large Animal Surgery Residency Research Fund Endowment; Clinton County Humane Society. Also, the Davis Siblings wish to thank Genda Funeral Home, 608 North Main Street, Frankfort, IN 46041 for assisting the family with arrangements.  Please share a memory here on Perry's obituary or https://clintoncountydailynews.com where you may leave a message for the family under obituaries.

P.S.  The MLC-ACC is formerly Perry’s Grade School and Home of the Ganders.  As such, the day will be olden days low-tech “Show & Tell” so please bring paper photographs or photocopies so the items can be pinned to a tribute wall.  The MLC-ACC has a ‘Museum Room’ full of historical photographs and memorabilia, plus, we will be in the restored ‘Gymnasium’ dating from 1924. Oh yeah--you might want to bring along a magnifying glass too!!
