Larry A. Koopman

Larry Allen Koopman, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on December 4, 2022.  He was born February 18, 1946, in Shelbyville, to John and Dorothy (Fox) Koopman.

Larry was a 1964 graduate of North Salem High School.  He was drafted to the U.S. Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1971 as a decorated Vietnam veteran.  On June 22, 1985, Larry married Carol “Sue” Mason, and she survives.

Larry worked at Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1999.  He was a member of the UAW, and enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, and working in his garage.  He was known as a “fixer of everything.”

Along with his wife of 37 years, Larry is survived by his children, Brian Koopman, Travis Rothwell, and Vicki (Corey) Antrim; brother, John Daniel Koopman; sister, Linda (Dennis) Thomas; and grandchildren, Logan Antrim, Gabby Rothwell, Trevor Antrim, and Trent Menefee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Darlene Kidwell, and one son, Robert Allan Rothwell.

No services will be held.  Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is assisting the family with arrangements.
