Joyce (Cheek) Russell

Joyce Russell, 77, of rural Frankfort, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, in Frankfort. She was born in Clinton County to the late Charles and Daisy (Martin) Cheek. She married Gerald Russell on October 22, 1983, in Michigantown; he survives.

Joyce was a 1962 graduate of Clinton Central High School. She retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo after more than 30 years. She enjoyed being a summer resident at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Pierceton where she loved spending time working in the registration office. She also enjoyed reading, camping, garage sales, and puzzle books, but more importantly, Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends. She had attended the Scircleville United Methodist Church and Souls Harbor Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Gerald of Frankfort, Joyce is survived by her daughters, Tami (Corey) Moore and Holly Stahl of Kokomo; son, Waylan (Jessica) Bessler of Frankfort; sisters, Shirley (Daryl) Dean of Zionsville, Wanda (Steven) Maher of Charlotte, NC, and Norma Zetterberg of Frankfort; brother, Tim (Jodie) Cheek of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Bianca Stahl, Keeleigh Bessler, Karleigh Bessler, Corey Moore, Kobi Moore, and Jackson Bessler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Cheek; and sister Sue Davis.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm at Genda Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Friday, October 28, 2022, at the funeral home, with Pastors Chase Lay and Robert Bogue officiating.  Burial will follow in the Scircleville Cemetery.
