Elizabeth Glenn

Elizabeth “Liz” Glenn, 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. She was born in Monroe County, Kentucky on January 7, 1936 to Jesse Virgil and Selma Lee (Dryer) Pruitt. She married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Glenn on June 19, 1954. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2014.

Liz graduated from high school in Fowler, Indiana. She spent 15 years at FMC as an electrician assembler retiring in 1990. She was a past member of the VFW in Hoopeston, IL as well as a member of a conservation club. Liz enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed fishing and camping at Timber Meadows Campground. After retiring, Liz, along with Bob, spent 25 years sitting by the pool with her friends and playing cards throughout the winter in Mesa, AZ.

Liz loved her family unconditionally. Her door was always open to her grandkids. Upon entering, she always had worldly advice followed a hug and a kiss. She moved from Hoopeston to Monticello to be closer to her son Bobby but she quickly became “Mama Liz” to the entire neighborhood. Liz loved living across the street from Bobby and Sandy. She was forever saying “Oh that Bobby Glenn” with a big smile on her face.

Liz never met a stranger. Some of her dearest friends were people she met in the aisle at the grocery store or the clerk at a gas station. As hard as she tried, she was never able to turn the lights out at multiple casinos. She was always the life of the party and never tried to be. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving is her son, Robert “Bobby” (Sandy) Glenn of Monticello; brother, Fredrick “Joe” Pruitt of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister Ione Stevens of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughters Peggy Glenn and Cindy Jo Morgeson.
