Barbara Carlson, 87, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Wesley Manor. She was born November 1, 1930 in Clinton County to Arthur and Audra (Maxwell) Thomas. She was a 1949 graduate of Frankfort High School. She married Robert Carlson January 14, 1950. He preceded her in death July 9, 1987. Barbara worked for many years for Scheid Oldsmobile-Cadillac as a bookkeeper. Prior to that she worked for Dorner Chevrolet and while in Fort Wayne she worked for International Credit Union and New Haven License Branch. She was a former member of Hope United Methodist Church, Clinton County Art League, and Paul Phillippe Resource Center where she taught art classes. She also painted yard signs for multi-sports for Clinton Prairie. She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and music events.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Debra (Dale) Brittain of Frankfort; son, Michael (Charlotte) Carlson of Frankfort; sister, Ruth Ann (Terry) Coffey; brother, Robert Thomas; grandchildren, Ryan (Craig) Bell, Brandon (Cassina) Smith, Ashley and Cameron Carlson; and great grandchildren, Keegan Smith, Adelyn Carlson, Kaira and Mya Hernandez, and Elias Smith.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rosemary Newhart.
Visitation will be held 4-8pm, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral services will be held 10am, Friday, November 2 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
